What data is available in the Global Exchange Rates API?
The Global Exchange Rates API enables you to download official exchange rates from central banks and tax authorities (providers) from all over the world using a simple and reliable source.
We also provide daily exchange rates of all the available currencies, calculated using our proprietary algorithm blending the official data from central banks and the market rate from commercial institutions.
The same endpoints latest and historical are used for both the central banks data and our exchange rates, but if you want to retrieve our internal exchange rates you should use the query parameter provider with value GLOBAL. In all endpoints, if the provider code is not specified the data will default to our internal exchange rates.
What are the main use cases of the API?
The data provided is ideal for all use cases where reliable, accurate up-to-date rates based on the official exchange rates is preferred, such as:
- Accounting, finance and ERP systems
- Business intelligence
- Reporting and analytics software.
- Research projects
- Mobile apps
The data is not meant for use in forext trading.
What are the available formats of the data?
We provide all API in JSON, XML and CSV format.
Can we read the data from legacy systems without API support?
We can provide FTP connectivity or integration with on premise\private networks for the subscribers of our ENTERPRISE plan – contact us with a description of you specific needs.
Do you provide access to bid-ask rates?

Yes, our historical endpoint provides data access – for supported institutions (providers) – starting from:
- 1st January 2024 for all the supported providers.
- 1st January 2025 for our internal exchange rates.

What are the available subscription plans?

Do you offer a free trial period?
The BASIC and PROFESSIONAL plans include a 30-day free trial, while the ENTERPRISE plan includes a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start a trial, and all features of the selected plan are available during the trial period.
You can activate the trial subscription after signing up to the Developer API Portal.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through the self-service customer portal.
All public plans are billed monthly. For private plans, we may agree on alternative payment methods (e.g., bank transfer) and custom subscription durations.
What payment methods are available?
The primary payment method is by credit card. Additional payment options are available during the account creation process.
If you need to pay by bank transfer, please contact us to arrange a personalized private plan.
Are my payment details secure?
Yes, all payments are handled by Stripe, the leading platform for secure payment processing.
Can I activate a yearly subscription?
